Welcome to a new year with MCBA! I am Susan Feder, your new MCBA President, and I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible during the course of the year. Allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am a full time mediator with a varied civil mediation practice.
Now that a new month is upon us, we are all beginning to look to the future, wondering what our “new normal” will look like through the summer months and into fall. At MCBA, we are busy putting together a roster of programs with an eye towards the future.
This month’s Marin Lawyer theme began as “the environment,” and after the arrival of COVID-19, fittingly evolved to be primarily about the pandemic. For my monthly message, I planned to write about the unintended, and sometimes positive, impact of the pandemic and shelter-in-place orders on environmental health.
On February 8, Susan Feder will be installed as the 2020 President of the Marin County Bar Association.
On November 14, Susan is helping to organize this all day MCLE program as President Elect of MCBA.
Susan Feder is volunteering her time to the community through Legal Aid of Marin by mediating Unlawful Detainer hearings at the Marin County Superior Court.
Susan Feder joins a panel of other experienced neutrals on July 10 for the program “Mapping Toward a Mediation Practice”, giving practical advice and lessons learned about developing an ADR practice.
In March 2019, Susan joined DFEH’s panel of volunteer mediators, who help resolve claims filed with DFEH for alleged employment and housing violations.
In February 2019, Susan was sworn in as President-Elect of the Marin County Bar Association. She is looking forward to beginning her presidency year in Jan. 2020.
